Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Lebogang Phiri, a well-traveled South African midfielder who has spent his entire professional career abroad.

The 30-year-old, who is currently with Guingamp in France’s Ligue 2, is said to be weighing his options as interest in his services begins to grow—both in Europe and back home.

Phiri left Bidvest Wits’ youth system back in 2013 to join Brøndby IF in Denmark, marking the start of a 14-year football journey that’s taken him across Denmark, France, and Turkey. Known for his calm presence and versatility in the middle of the park, Phiri has earned six caps for Bafana Bafana along the way.

According to iDiski Times, Chiefs are one of the clubs looking to bring him back to South Africa. Although he still has options overseas, a solid offer from Naturena could be enough to tempt him to make the return.

With Amakhosi in search of experience and quality in midfield as they gear up for the new season, Phiri’s potential arrival could mark a significant boost—both in leadership and depth.
