Felix Jones has rejoined the Springbok coaching team with renewed energy and valuable experience after a brief spell with England. Now back in the familiar green and gold, Jones is focused on helping the world champions continue to evolve tactically.

After playing a key role in South Africa’s back-to-back Rugby World Cup victories in 2019 and 2023, Jones is ready for the next phase of his journey with the Boks. With a challenging Incoming Series against Italy and Georgia on the horizon, he believes South Africa must keep pushing forward and finding new ways to stay competitive.

“It’s really good to be back,” Jones said. “You can already see how the team has developed. The key now is to keep that momentum going.”

His return comes at a vital time, as the Springboks enter a packed mid-year schedule. Drawing on his overseas experience, Jones brings valuable knowledge about international opposition, which he hopes will give South Africa the edge.

Looking ahead to clashes against an improving Italian side and a physically dominant Georgia, Jones warned against underestimating any opponent.

“There’s no room for standing still,” he added. “We have to keep evolving on and off the field if we want to stay ahead.”
