Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are gearing up for major squad overhauls ahead of next season.
Chiefs will enter their first African campaign under new coach Nasreddine Nabi, while Pirates face a fresh start without Jose Riveiro at the helm.
Both clubs are expected to be highly active in the transfer market to strengthen their teams. It’s become common for these Soweto rivals to target the same players. Recently, both were linked with Polokwane City’s Oswin Appollis, his teammate Thabang Matuludi, and Chippa United’s Sinoxolo Kwayiba. Additionally, both clubs have shown interest in Fawaaz Basadien, who is also on Mamelodi Sundowns’ radar. Another name both Chiefs and Pirates reportedly want is Marumo Gallants’ Masindi Nemtajela.
One player who stirred a lot of interest from both sides was Rowan Human. However, AmaZulu secured his signature by meeting Maritzburg United’s asking price. Now, after failing to agree on a contract extension with AmaZulu, Human is set to become a free agent.
According to iDiski Times, Human’s agents have offered him to both Chiefs and Pirates as a free transfer.
“AmaZulu FC midfielder Rowan Human has been offered to Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs by his representatives as he is set to leave the club on a free transfer. Human will leave Usuthu at the end of June after his contract expires, having failed to reach a new deal. iDiski Times understands Human has been offered to both Soweto giants, and it’s likely only a matter of time before one snaps him up, especially since he’s a free agent and has regained his form,” the report stated.
