For several seasons, Percy Tau’s name has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs, and now he’s openly inviting an offer from the Soweto giants.
Tau Willing to Take a Pay Cut
In a recent chat with Robert Marawa on 947’s MSW show, Tau was asked if he would accept a two-year deal with Chiefs paying R450,000 a month. His response? A simple but telling “Perfect.”
This shows the Bafana Bafana star is not only interested but ready to take a significant pay cut to join Amakhosi. It’s a clear sign he’s serious about the move.
Chiefs Not Pursuing Older Stars Anymore
Despite Tau’s willingness, Chiefs appear uninterested. The club has learned from past big-money signings like Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly, which didn’t quite deliver on expectations.
As a result, Amakhosi have decided to avoid expensive deals for older players and are focusing on different transfer strategies.
Tau’s Offer Could Change the Game
Still, Tau’s openness to a much lower salary than previous high-profile signings could make things interesting if Chiefs reconsider their stance.
