Orlando Pirates have officially kicked off their pre-season preparations by revealing their new home and away kits for the upcoming season.

The Pirates will stick to their classic colors next season, bringing back the traditional black home kit along with a return to the white away jersey.

This white away kit marks a comeback since the 2022-2023 season, the first under former coach Jose Riveiro. In the past two seasons, the team experimented with different away colors—light green in 2023-2024 and a shade of blue last season—so Pirates fans will be glad to see a return to tradition.

The club unveiled the new kits on their social media channels Tuesday morning, accompanied by the slogan “It’s in our bones,” nodding to their iconic skull and bones logo. According to the official Pirates ‘X’ account, the kits will be available in stores starting 7 July.

The team will also begin pre-season training on 7 July before heading to Spain for their tour. It remains to be seen if they will sport the new kits during the tour or stick to older versions like last year.

Pirates have confirmed fixtures against English side Bolton Wanderers and Cyprus champions Pafos FC. Their tour will conclude with matches against two Spanish teams—UD Las Palmas on 17 July and Granada FC two days later.

The first match against Bolton continues the pattern of playing historic but currently lower-league English teams, following last season’s game against Plymouth Argyle.
