Orlando Pirates have officially made their interest known in one of South Africa’s brightest young football talents — Neo Rapoo. The Soweto giants have reportedly reached out to SuperSport United, making initial enquiries about the teenage left-back’s availability, according to football broadcaster Karabo Phasha.

Rapoo, just 19, has turned heads across the continent following his standout displays at the recent 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. His solid performances were instrumental in South Africa’s run to the title and booking a spot at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile.
Long before the tournament wrapped up, Pirates were already in contact with his representatives, showing their serious intent to bring him on board ahead of next season.
A Breakout Talent to Watch
Far from being just hype, Rapoo has already shown he belongs at the top level. Promoted to SuperSport United’s senior squad last season, he clocked 15 appearances during the 2024/25 campaign, impressing with both maturity and skill on the left flank.
