Orlando Pirates are wasting no time reshaping their squad as they gear up for the 2025/26 campaign. With major exits and fresh talent on the radar, the club is clearly entering a new chapter.
Veterans Out, New Blood In
Pirates have officially parted ways with four experienced players: Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane, Innocent Maela, and Miguel Timm. The exits mark the end of an era, especially for Monyane, who spent 13 years at the club.
In response, the Buccaneers are preparing to unveil a wave of new signings—potentially up to eight fresh faces, according to reliable source @UnplayableZA. The list includes:
- Sihle Nduli
- Kabelo Kgositsile
- Tshepo Mashiloane
- Yanela Mbuthuma
- Masindi Nemtajela
- Nkosikhona Ndaba
- Sinoxolo Kwayiba
- Tshepang Moremi
There’s also growing talk of deals being lined up for Neo Rapoo and Devin Titus.
A New-Look Starting XI?
Here’s how the Pirates’ lineup could look next season:
Chaine; Van Rooyen, Sesane, Mbokazi, Mashiloane; Makhaula, Mbatha; Nkota, Maswanganyi, Mofokeng; Mabasa.
Left-back remains a hot topic. With both Mako and Maela gone, Deon Hotto has been filling in—though it’s not his preferred role. The likely arrival of Tshepo Mashiloane, who can operate on both flanks, will offer much-needed depth and stability.
Midfield Revamp Incoming?
One of the most talked-about signings is Masindi Nemtajela from Marumo Gallants. At just 24, he’s being tipped as the long-term replacement for Makhehlene Makhaula. Last season, Nemtajela showcased his energy and versatility with a goal, two assists, and four yellow cards in just 17 league appearances.
