Kaizer Chiefs might seize an opportunity to sign a departing Mamelodi Sundowns striker ahead of the 2025/2026 Betway Premiership season.
After three consecutive loan spells, Nigerian forward Etiosa Igodaro appears set to leave Sundowns once his contract expires at the end of this month.
Igodaro spent last season on loan at AmaZulu, netting six goals in 27 appearances. Prior to that, he was loaned to Chippa United and before that to the University of Pretoria.
Recent reports reveal that Kaizer Chiefs are interested in the 23-year-old striker, who could soon be a free agent.
Kaizer Chiefs eyeing Igodaro move?
A source told Soccer Laduma, “Yes, it’s true. Kaizer Chiefs have made enquiries about Etiosa Igodaro. Interestingly, the same scouts who brought him from Nigeria to Sundowns are involved in Chiefs’ interest. They previously tried to sign him when he was at Chippa United, but Sundowns loaned him elsewhere. Now, with Sundowns possibly ready to release him, Chiefs are ready to move quickly.”
