Kaizer Chiefs are once again considering a move for Terrence Mashego, the Mamelodi Sundowns left-back who was surprisingly omitted from the club’s FIFA Club World Cup squad.
At 28, Mashego endured a frustrating season, making only four league appearances as Aubrey Modiba, Divine Lunga, and Asekho Tiwani dominated the left-back rotation. With limited game time, the former Cape Town City defender is reportedly eager to leave Chloorkop in search of more consistent minutes—and Chiefs are reportedly ready to give him a fresh start at Naturena.
A move could benefit both parties, as Amakhosi look to strengthen their defensive options for the new season under incoming coach Nasreddine Nabi.
Gaston Sirino Faces Serious Tax Trouble
While one Sundowns star considers a new chapter, another is facing major off-field issues. Gaston Sirino, long linked with Kaizer Chiefs, is reportedly in trouble with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) over R6.1 million in unpaid taxes.
According to official correspondence from SARS, the Uruguayan has ten days to settle the debt or face serious legal consequences.
“You are requested to make full payment within 10 days,” the letter reads. “Failure to do so may lead to third-party appointments, civil judgment, or asset seizure by the sheriff of the court.”
The veteran attacker now faces the possibility of having his assets attached if the matter is not resolved quickly.
