Kaizer Chiefs have officially confirmed the release of five players as they begin a major squad overhaul ahead of the new season. But the changes at Naturena are far from over.

FIVE PLAYERS OUT – MORE TO FOLLOW

So far, Amakhosi have parted ways with Ranga Chivaviro, Njabulo Blom, Sabelo Radebe, Edmilson Dove, and Mduduzi Mdantsane. The club has thanked the players for their service, but this marks just the beginning of a broader restructuring plan.

FOUR MORE STARS SET TO LEAVE

According to insiders, goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, midfielder Edson Castillo, and out-of-favour duo Tebogo Potsane and Bongani Sam are all on the chopping block. New head coach Nasreddine Nabi reportedly doesn’t see them fitting into his system.

With limited opportunities expected for Potsane and Sam, the club is looking to move them on to allow for more game time elsewhere. Meanwhile, Ntwari and Castillo’s possible exits are said to be part of a larger strategy to open up space for international signings.

INTERNATIONAL SIGNINGS ON THE HORIZON?

With Edmilson Dove already gone, and Ntwari and Castillo potentially on their way out, Chiefs could have up to three foreign-player slots open. That gives Nabi and the Chiefs management flexibility to bring in quality international reinforcements.

A NEW-LOOK CHIEFS UNDERWAY

In total, as many as nine player exits could be completed. On the flip side, four new players are already in line to join the Glamour Boys from rivals including Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, as part of a bold rebuild.

Change is clearly in motion at Naturena, and fans can expect a fresh-looking squad when Chiefs head off to their European pre-season tour in July.
