Kaizer Chiefs aren’t slowing down in the transfer market, as more changes unfold at Naturena following a disappointing campaign.
After failing to secure a spot in the league’s top eight—and ending the season alarmingly close to the relegation zone—Nasreddine Nabi’s side is clearly in rebuild mode.
On Tuesday, the club confirmed the departure of yet another player, Mozambican defender Edmilson Dove, whose contract ends this June.
Dove Departs After Three Seasons
The experienced defender made 56 appearances in Chiefs colours, contributing both as a left-back and centre-back. Dove also briefly captained the side and netted two goals during his stay.
“Kaizer Chiefs and defender Edmilson Dove will part ways when his contract expires at the end of June,” the club confirmed in an official statement.
His exit follows the recent departures of Sabelo Radebe, Njabulo Blom, and Ranga Chivaviro as the club looks to reshape its squad.
Castillo Next in Line to Leave?
According to iDiski Times, midfielder Edson Castillo could be the next player shown the door—despite having signed a contract extension not long ago.
With four players already off the books, the question now is: Who else will be axed as Chiefs aim to rebuild for the 2025/26 season?
