Mamelodi Sundowns icon Hlompho Kekana has stirred the pot among Kaizer Chiefs supporters by weighing in on the club’s potential signing of Sipho Mbule.
Despite Mbule’s well-known struggles with discipline during his time at Sundowns and last season on loan at Sekhukhune United, Kekana believes that his undeniable talent makes him worth the gamble.
Kekana’s Cautious Endorsement
Speaking on SABC Sport’s Soccer Zone, Kekana acknowledged the risks, saying, “You have to be very brave to sign Sipho right now.” Yet he also praised Mbule’s ability to influence games: “With his talent alone, you’re guaranteed exciting football and wins.”
However, Kekana cautioned that off the field, Mbule will require strong guidance and support from the coaching staff to unlock his full potential.
Chiefs Eyeing Midfield Reinforcements
Kaizer Chiefs are on the hunt for a creative number eight, and Mbule remains a top contender given his experience in the PSL and CAF Champions League.
Meanwhile, the club is also linked with Tanzanian midfielder Feisal Salum from Azam FC. Salum, who previously worked with Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi at Young Africans, reportedly wants to join the Soweto giants next season. His contract with Azam runs until June 2026.
