Ex-Kaizer Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi believes the club will look much stronger and more organized in the upcoming 2025/26 season.

After finishing outside the top 8 for two consecutive seasons—a first in their PSL history—Amakhosi have struggled to find consistent form under coach Nasredine Nabi. Despite that, they finally ended a decade-long trophy drought by winning the Nedbank Cup last season.

“Last season, Chiefs did well early on, especially when they traveled to Turkey for their pre-season,” Tsotetsi told Soccer Laduma. “There was a bit of disruption when the first assistant coach left and had to be replaced, which affected the team.”

Looking ahead, Tsotetsi is optimistic about Chiefs’ upcoming pre-season camp in the Netherlands. “The teams they’ll face there are tactically sharp and will offer a good challenge,” he said. “I think this will help Chiefs build a solid tactical structure. When they return, they’ll be a different, improved team.”

So far, Chiefs have released five players, including Ranga Chivaviro and Edmilson Dove, but have yet to announce any new signings. With some key departures, the club might be targeting foreign recruits to strengthen their squad.
