Cape Town City FC chairman John Comitis has opened up about the club’s plans for its key players following their relegation to the Motsepe Foundation Championship. With the team now preparing for life in the second division, many are wondering if the club can hold onto its top talent.
Big names like Darren Keet, Lorenzo Gordinho, Thabo Nodada, Luphumlo Sifumba, Idumba Fasika, Jaedin Rhodes, Haashim Domingo, Gabriel Amato, and Emile Witbooi are already attracting attention from Betway Premiership clubs.
Despite the growing interest, Comitis is determined to keep the squad intact as he targets a swift return to the top flight.
“My players are not going anywhere,” he told KickOff. “Although, I must admit, there are a few we may struggle to afford going forward. Right now, it’s still early days—emotions are high and that’s not the best state to make big decisions. We’re going to take a step back and carefully plan our next move.”
