AmaZulu Football Club have taken a bold step to reinforce their technical bench by appointing former Durban City head coach Simo Dladla as the new assistant to head coach Arthur Zwane, ahead of what promises to be a competitive 2025/26 season.

Dladla, known for his tactical intelligence and player development expertise, joins Usuthu following his recent departure from Durban City. His exit came shortly after he achieved a remarkable feat — leading the club back to top-flight football. Despite his success, Dladla and Durban City management failed to reach an agreement over the terms of a new contract, prompting a respectful and mutual parting of ways.

His appointment at AmaZulu is already being seen as a major statement of intent by the club’s hierarchy. Dladla brings with him a wealth of coaching experience from the lower divisions, a deep understanding of South African football structures, and a track record of nurturing young talent and building cohesive teams.

Club insiders believe that the addition of Dladla will significantly enhance Arthur Zwane’s coaching setup. Zwane, who was confirmed to continue as AmaZulu’s head coach, will now have an experienced and tactically astute partner at his side as they prepare for a season where expectations are high.

AmaZulu have made it clear they want to challenge for silverware and a top-four finish in the Betway Premiership, and with Dladla now part of the technical team, the club looks well-positioned to push toward those goals. His presence is also expected to bring fresh ideas, balance to the coaching team, and tactical flexibility as the club seeks to improve its consistency and competitiveness in the league.

With pre-season preparations underway, the combination of Arthur Zwane’s experience at the highest level and Simo Dladla’s sharp coaching mind could prove to be the formula AmaZulu needs to rise again and become a formidable force in South African football.
