Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has responded to growing curiosity around the club’s transfer plans for the 2025/26 season, following a period of quiet activity and no official signings announced to date.
This silence comes in the wake of a major blow to supporters—free agent Sipho Mbule, once tipped to join the Glamour Boys, was snapped up by arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in a surprise move that’s stirred the Amakhosi fanbase.

After finishing a disappointing ninth last season, fans have been eager to see changes—and have been calling for clarity. Speaking on 947’s MSW show on Tuesday evening, Motaung reassured supporters that the club is working behind the scenes and that official announcements will follow.
“We’ll share transfer details on the right platform and at the right time,” Motaung said. “We ask our supporters to be patient. Announcements will be made regarding player departures and new arrivals.”
He also confirmed that newly appointed coach Nasreddine Nabi had just arrived and has started internal sessions with the team.
“This is not a one-man show—I don’t just wake up and make decisions. There’s a process. The coach is now here, and we’re consulting as a team,” he added.
Chiefs are preparing to jet off to the Netherlands for pre-season camp from July 4 to 19. Motaung confirmed that the club will make official announcements about the trip and future plans in due course.
“Once we’re back from Europe, the coach will engage with the media and supporters, and all the questions will be addressed. We see what fans are saying, we read the comments, and we’ve got a team working on all of that.”
