Kaizer Chiefs are fully focused on turning things around after a disappointing league campaign, with player signings and overall team improvement now taking center stage as the new season approaches.
Under the guidance of new head coach Nasreddine Nabi, the team has resumed training, preparing not just for the domestic season, but also for their return to continental football in the CAF Confederation Cup.
In July, Chiefs will head to the Netherlands for pre-season preparations and are also scheduled to face Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko in the Toyota Cup on July 26.
Speaking at a media event on Thursday, the club’s marketing and commercial director, Jessica Motaung, addressed the hot topic of transfers and performance.
“The transfer market is very competitive, and we have to be realistic about that,” Motaung explained. “But Kaizer Chiefs has always managed to bring in quality players, and that’s something we’re continuously working on behind the scenes.”
Reflecting on the club’s recent struggles, she added, “Finishing ninth or tenth is far below our standards. That’s something we’ve had to confront internally, and it’s driving the push for change.”
