Orlando Pirates have entered a new chapter under newly-appointed head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, and he’s wasting no time making changes.

Despite the recent coaching shift, the club’s ambition to strengthen the squad remains full steam ahead. In fact, the arrival of Ouaddou has only increased the number of new names linked to Mayfair.

OUDDOU’S TARGET LIST TAKES SHAPE

Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sipho Mbule has become the first official signing under the new coach. But he might not be the last player from Sundowns on Pirates’ radar.

The Bucs have reportedly shown interest in Bafana Bafana defender Neo Maema, who currently plies his trade at Sundowns.

In addition, Ouaddou is said to be keen on 23-year-old Malian international Abdoulaye Mariko, with reports suggesting the coach’s appointment could be key to luring him to Soweto.

NINE NEW BUCS – AND COUNTING

Mbule joins an already impressive list of eight new recruits, bringing the total number of signings to nine. Among them are national team players Tshepang Moremi and Sinoxolo Kwayiba, as well as Sihle Nduli, who joins from Stellenbosch FC.

On the flip side, four players have officially left the club, and more exits are expected in the coming weeks. The futures of players like Gilberto, Katlego Otladisa, Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, and Siphelo Baloni hang in the balance as Ouaddou reshapes his squad.
