Kaizer Chiefs have been linked to a host of transfer targets lately, many coming from rival PSL clubs like Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, as well as some Bafana Bafana stars. But not all the rumors reflect the coach’s actual wishlist.

What Nabi Really Wants

Sources reveal that Nasreddine Nabi has zeroed in on a select few players he truly wants to bring to Naturena this season.

Instead of the widely reported names, Nabi is focused on three right-backs: Richards Bay’s Lwandile Mabuya, Cape Town Spurs’ Lungelo Bhengu, and Mhleli Mabuza, who recently trialed with Chiefs after arriving from Portugal.

On the left-back front, Nabi has his sights on Fawaaz Basadien from Stellenbosch and Mohamed Hussein from Tanzania’s Simba SC.

Scouts Push for Ex-Pirates Duo

While Nabi concentrates on these defensive options, Chiefs’ scouts and management seem to favor signing former Orlando Pirates players Monyane and Mako.

It remains to be seen whether the coach will stick to his original targets or align with the scouting team’s preferences during pre-season.

Decision Time for Amakhosi

Ultimately, the choice lies with Chiefs’ management — whether to back Nabi’s specific targets or go with the scouts’ preferred duo. Rumors suggest the former Pirates and Bafana stars could be unveiled by Chiefs soon, signaling a potential shift in recruitment strategy.
