Mamelodi Sundowns are raking in impressive earnings at the FIFA Club World Cup, having already made over R200 million after just one game.
Their campaign kicked off with a confidence-boosting 1-0 win over Uldan in Group F, which helped boost their prize money. However, a significant portion of their earnings—over R170 million—came simply from qualifying and participating in the tournament.
Big Money on the Table
The victory against Uldan earned Sundowns more than R35 million, pushing their total prize money to over R200 million so far.
But the stakes are still high. In their upcoming matches against Borussia Dortmund and Fluminense, the Brazilians could win an additional R70 million. FIFA awards around R35 million for every win in the Club World Cup, while a draw would still earn Sundowns nearly R18 million.
Proudly Representing South Africa
As eight-time consecutive Betway Premiership champions, Sundowns are carrying the South African flag on the global stage with pride. Their performances don’t just boost national pride—they also increase player values, improve club rankings, and enhance the team’s reputation internationally.
Leading up to the FIFA Club World Cup, Sundowns’ key players have become the most valuable in the PSL—worth more than twice the highest-valued players from Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
With so much on the line, Sundowns are motivated to keep pushing further and maximize their success both on and off the pitch.
