Orlando Pirates have confirmed that former interim coach Mandla Ncikazi will stay on at the club, taking up a technical advisor role for the upcoming season. The experienced 56-year-old stepped in as caretaker towards the end of the last campaign, leading the team through four matches with one win and three draws.

A source close to the club revealed:

“Ncikazi has served the club with dedication and professionalism in different roles. He remains a valued member of the technical team and still has a contract running until next year.”

Kaizer Chiefs Expand Search for New Signings

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs are widening their transfer search and have shown interest in Tanzanian Premier League winger Maxwell Nzengeli. The player is familiar to head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who reportedly sees potential in him.

“Chiefs haven’t confirmed any new signings yet, but they are casting the net wide,” said an insider. “Nzengeli is one of the names they’re seriously considering—he’s known to Nabi and is admired by the club’s scouting team.”

Rowan Human on Both Clubs’ Radar

In a potential Soweto derby off the field, both Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are keeping tabs on Rowan Human, who is set to leave AmaZulu FC at the end of June as a free agent.

“His agents have offered him to both clubs. Now that he’s rediscovered his form and will be available on a free, it’s likely he’ll get picked up quickly,” the source explained.

With transfer activity heating up, the next few weeks could see both Soweto giants reshaping their squads as they prepare for the 2025/26 campaign.
