Kaizer Chiefs stand tall as one of South Africa’s wealthiest football clubs. It’s no surprise, then, that their players rank among the most expensive on the transfer market.

Known for their strong financial muscle, Amakhosi once had the luxury of boasting the three highest-paid players in the Premier Soccer League at the same time — Keagan Dolly, Samir Nurkovic, and Khama Billiat. Even though recent seasons haven’t gone as planned in the Betway Premiership, Chiefs still possess several of the most valuable talents in the league.

Chiefs’ Top 5 Most Valuable Players

1. Yusuf Maart (Captain) – R20.7 Million
As captain, Yusuf Maart carries the responsibility and value of a top player. His current market worth stands at about €1 million, which is roughly R20.7 million, making him the highest-valued player at Amakhosi.

2. Given Msimango / Reeve Frosler – R18.7 Million Each
Two defenders — Msimango (centre back) and Frosler (right back) — share the distinction of being Chiefs’ second-most valuable players. Both have an estimated market value of €900,000, translating to around R18.7 million each, despite being under-utilized recently.

3. Ashley Du Preez – R17.6 Million
The fast-paced attacker has had mixed performances since moving from Stellenbosch to Chiefs, but his transfer market value remains solid at approximately €850,000 (R17.6 million). He continues to be among the club’s most prized assets.

4. Mduduzi Shabalala – R14.5 Million
A young talent on the rise, ‘Mdu’ has quickly moved from Chiefs’ development side to a regular starter in the senior team. Valued at €700,000 (around R14.5 million), he’s emerging as one of the PSL’s promising players.

5. Rushwin Dortley / Bradley Cross – R13.5 Million Each
Both new signings under coach Nasreddine Nabi, Dortley and Cross haven’t had their transfer fees disclosed but are valued highly. Each is worth approximately €650,000, or R13.5 million.

Notable Mentions: Njabulo Blom and Inacio Miguel

Njabulo Blom, before his return to the United States, was one of Chiefs’ most valuable assets with a market value of €900,000 (R18.7 million). His departure marked a significant loss for the club.

Defender Inacio Miguel, known for his tough style, is valued at about €600,000 (R12.43 million). Should any of the top five players leave Naturena, Miguel would move into the club’s top five most valuable list.
