Kaizer Chiefs have offered their support and sympathy to forward Ashley Du Preez following the passing of his father, Abraham Jansen.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Abraham Jansen, the father of our player Ashley Du Preez. We send our heartfelt condolences to Ashley and his family. May his father’s soul rest in peace,” the club posted.
Since joining Amakhosi from Stellenbosch FC in 2022—reportedly for R10 million—Du Preez has worked hard to make his mark at Naturena. After a challenging start, the 26-year-old attacker played a key role in the club’s Nedbank Cup campaign, scoring a vital winner against Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-final and assisting in the final against rivals Orlando Pirates.
But as he celebrates recent victories on the field, Du Preez now faces a painful personal loss. The tragedy has cast a shadow over what has been a breakthrough season for the talented striker.
