Mamelodi Sundowns are just days away from representing South Africa on football’s grandest club stage — the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. The Betway Premiership champions have officially submitted their 26-man squad to FIFA and will depart from OR Tambo International Airport on Sunday evening.
This year’s Club World Cup is unlike any before, featuring global heavyweights including Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain. Now, South Africa’s very own Kabo Yellow will get a shot at making history against the best of the best.
Big Names Missing from the Squad
While coach Miguel Cardoso has named a strong travelling squad, there were some unexpected exclusions. Thapelo Maseko, Keagan Johannes, Jody February, Lucas Ribeiro, and Terrence Mashego have all been left out of the final list — a move that has certainly raised eyebrows among fans.
