Kaizer Chiefs are on a determined mission to strengthen their squad with top-quality players as they aim to dominate both the local league and African competitions next season. Head coach Nasreddine Nabi is personally leading the charge, traveling across the continent to scout and secure impactful signings.
After a recent scouting trip to Tanzania, where Chiefs are close to sealing a deal for Feisal Salum from Azam FC, Nabi didn’t stop there. According to an insider familiar with the club’s plans, the coach also traveled to Egypt during the CAF Champions League final with a clear purpose.
“The coach is focused on finding players who can make a real difference not only in domestic competitions but also on the African stage. They recently visited Tanzania to lock in Feisal Salum’s signing, and the trip to Egypt was mainly about checking on Fiston Mayele’s situation. Since Mayele is from the DRC and previously played for Yanga SC, Nabi believes he can be a vital addition for Chiefs’ continental ambitions,” the source explained.
Fiston Mayele: Chiefs’ Long-Term Target Returns to Spotlight
Fiston Mayele has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs for more than three seasons. The club once had a chance to sign him on a free transfer but missed out. The talented striker then moved to Egypt’s Pyramids FC, where his performances have steadily increased his market value thanks to his goal-scoring ability.
With Nabi pushing hard for quality reinforcements, the Chiefs’ management may now be ready to invest heavily to bring Mayele onboard and boost their attacking firepower ahead of next season.
