Orlando Pirates have wasted no time getting down to business ahead of the 2025/26 season, with reports suggesting a major squad shake-up is already in motion.
Fresh Faces Incoming, Familiar Ones Departing
The Buccaneers are believed to have concluded several transfer deals already, signalling a clear intent to strengthen their team for the upcoming campaign. This marks the beginning of a new era, especially with the club transitioning from the Jose Riveiro chapter.
As many as six new players are expected to arrive at Mayfair, but while reinforcements are being lined up, the focus isn’t just on signings. Pirates are also preparing to clear space within the squad by letting go of a number of existing players.
The departures of captain Innocent Maela and midfielder Miguel Timm have already been confirmed. Now, another name has emerged.
Goodman Mosele on His Way Out?
According to Soccer Laduma, midfielder Goodman Mosele is next in line to leave. Sources close to the club claim that Pirates are unlikely to offer him a new contract when his current deal expires at the end of the month.
One insider explained:
“The club is handling exits case by case, and Goodman Mosele seems to be the next one. It doesn’t look like he’ll be sent out on loan this time—it’s a permanent parting.”
Another source hinted that Mosele’s potential departure is linked to the expected arrival of Sihle Nduli, with the club aiming to refresh its midfield options.
“There’s already a lot of competition in midfield, and with Sihle Nduli believed to have agreed terms, the club is making space—and unfortunately, Mosele seems to be one of the players affected,” said the source.
With more changes expected in the coming weeks, Orlando Pirates fans should brace for a very different squad come next season.
