Mduduzi Mdantsane’s chapter at Kaizer Chiefs appears to be coming to an end, with new reports suggesting his time at Naturena is all but over.
The 30-year-old attacking midfielder, who rose to prominence at Baroka FC before shining for Cape Town City, joined Chiefs in 2023 with high expectations. However, things haven’t gone according to plan.
Despite making just 16 appearances for the Soweto giants, Mdantsane was loaned out to Richards Bay FC in January. His spell there was brief — featuring in only three matches — but it seems his impact was enough to catch the attention of the club’s technical team.
According to Soccer Laduma, Richards Bay are now interested in signing him on a permanent deal. “The technical team is believed to be impressed with his experience and potential contribution,” said a source close to the club.
Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly open to parting ways with the player, having already considered letting him go permanently earlier in the season. The only thing holding back a transfer then was a lack of concrete interest — but that has changed.
Now, it’s all down to negotiations between the two clubs, with Richards Bay eager to keep the experienced playmaker in their squad for next season.
